Alcohol and Substance Abuse
If you suspect you might have a problem with alcohol, marijuana, or other drugs you are either struggling to talk about it and get help or you might be in denial – which means those who love you are struggling. Shame often keeps people from reaching out for help. Or maybe you’ve tried to get help, but the cycle of abuse continues.
We are not an addiction facility, but we can get you connected with treatment centers or detox facilities. Our center focuses on healing once sobriety has been obtained.
Once sobriety is achieved, we will work with you to put the pieces of your life back together. Substance abuse destroys families and relationships but oftentimes relationships can be strengthened through counseling and sobriety. Therapy consists of examining emotional triggers from the past and present and developing healthy coping skills to manage your stress. Our approach is holistic and integrated. We utilize community and family support when possible. We know that healing occurs on many levels: emotionally, relationally, physically, and spiritually. Those who struggle with substance abuse are so much more than their label. The women we work with often struggle with trauma, low self-esteem, and relationship stress – in addition to their substance abuse. Research has shown that there is a strong correlation between unresolved traumatic life events and alcohol and substance abuse. It is important that you heal from your trauma as part of your treatment and relapse prevention program.
How Hope Helps in Recovery
During the stages of early recovery, it can be hard to express the complex emotions you are experiencing, especially if the feelings seem contradictory or confusing. Speaking to your hope can help you express multiple emotions and acknowledge the full range of what you are feeling.
Hope is the foundation for recovery. There is always HOPE.
